My first visit to Rocky Mountain Escape was just over one and a half years ago. I was looking for a place far removed from the city that would challenge my hiking abilities and be relaxing. I found the staff very welcoming and knowledgeable. My partner and I went on two awesome winter hikes with snowshoes on and learned more about the Rockies and its inhabitants than I ever imagined! The food was excellent and the cabins’ open concept with a central wood-burning stove made for a simple relaxing trip. My partner and I have returned four times now to the cabins and each visit carries with it a new adventure! We can’t wait to go back!
Hi readers, I spent 6months with Luara as her guide and had the best time ever. The hiking is out of this world…. so many different trails and climbs for the novice to the mountaineer. The best thing about the “escape” is Luara’s home cooking I miss it so much. Rock Lake is just a stones throw and maybe you could catch a nice lake trout for dinner or a canoe ride before dark which ever way the mountains and the fauna will have all wanting to come back for more. A little warning to all people, be prepared for the Canadian Rockies to get in your blood, once its in you theres no going back.. Many safe adventures for all…..
