It is that time of year again when the Boreal Owls start their hooting mating call in our neck of the woods. Two nights ago was the first time I heard one owl start hooting in the valley just at nightfall. Often, we will have two males competing around the cabins, and their calls are almost a continuous woo-woo-woo-woo-woo echoing up and down the valley.
Our weather has been mild, and we have great snow conditions. So, it is a wonderful time of year to get out and enjoy the winter season!
